On average 500 children a year present to the Princess Margaret Hospital Emergency Department as a result of a burn or scald, with one third of these children requiring admission into hospital.
PREVENTING FALLS IN CHILDREN
Falls are the leading cause of childhood injury, accounting for almost 40 percent of hospital admissions to Princess Margaret Hospital. It’s important to keep in mind that children will sometimes end up with grazes, however serious injuries from falls can be prevented.
