Kidsafe WA Upcoming Regional Travel

Every year, the Kidsafe WA team travel to regional communities to deliver child injury prevention programs and services to keep country kids safe at home, on the road and at play. During each visit, Kidsafe WA staff delivers free primary school incursions, professional development workshops, and parent workshops to community organisations. This is an excellent opportunity for our team to meet with local families and to expand the reach of important childhood injury prevention messaging.

Children residing in regional and remote areas of WA are considerably more likely to be hospitalised for an injury in comparison to those living in metropolitan areas. These children are 2.6 times more likely to be injured in a transport accident and are at much higher risk of other serious injuries in comparison to children in metropolitan areas. There are a range of challenges regional families face, including long travel times to major towns and the inability to access adequate health services and childhood injury prevention services.

Thanks to our partnership with the Department of Health WA, Kidsafe WA will visit the regions below in the upcoming months. If you are interested in having Kidsafe WA visit your school or organisation, please get in touch with our team using the information below.

Pilbara – 7th to 11th April 2025
