One Year On – Kidsafe WA’s New Community Facility

Five years ago Kidsafe WA commenced the most significant project ever undertaken by the organisation – creating a purpose built community facility. Funding bequeathed to Kidsafe WA from the Joyce Henderson Trust Fund and the Mary Bremner Estate allowed the organisation to purchase the site which would become our new home. Significant support from Lotterywest funding provided the platform through which Kidsafe WA was able to commence the redevelopment of the property, along with sponsorship from 25 Western Australian businesses who recognised the importance of preventing unintentional childhood injury and death.

The Western Australian businesses who supported our project:

On the 31 October 2016, Kidsafe WA officially moved into our new facility; the central base through which we deliver services to families throughout
the metropolitan area, as well as regional and remote communities. One year on and we continue to work with the Western Australian community
to prevent unintentional childhood injury and death. We have run workshops educating parents and carers on how to keep children safe in and
around the home, ensured children were transported safely in vehicles, undertaken community education sessions across Western Australia, as
well as important research and injury prevention programs. Despite a busy year for Kidsafe WA, we feel that it is important to reflect on and
recognise the support that we received to get here. Without these generous contributions we would not have been able to create our new contemporary
facility that welcomes children, families, carers and health care professionals from all over Western Australia.
