Workshops

Playground Inspection and Maintenance Workshops

This workshop aims to reduce playground injuries through an increased understanding of the current Playground Safety Standards. This hands-on workshop covers what to look for when checking playgrounds for safety hazards and includes on-site inspections using relevant inspection tools. The workshop can be tailored to meet your needs and can be run over half a day or over 2 full days. Suitable for local government employees, parks supervisors, maintenance staff, landscape design staff and risk managers.

Nature Play Workshops

This workshop explores ways to create playspaces that support children’s development, learning and well-being and provide opportunities for them to explore and connect with nature in a safe environment. The importance of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards are discussed in this workshop. The workshop runs for approximately 1.5 hours. Suitable for local government employees, schools, parents, community groups, education and care, landscape architects and designers.

Playground Maintenance for Education and Care

This workshop aims to reduce playground injuries through an increased understanding of the current Playground Safety Standards and the adoption of assessment and inspection techniques that comply with Australian Playground Standards. Half to full-day workshops available. Suitable for school staff addressing the maintenance of school playgrounds.

Visual (routine) Inspection Course

This nationally recognised training course incorporating AHCPGD206 Conduct visual inspection of park facilities will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to conduct routine visual (daily to weekly) inspections of park and recreational facilities to identify visual hazards and existing potential risks.

Operational Inspection Course

This two-day nationally recognised training course incorporating AHCPGD305 Conduct operational inspection of park facilities will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to conduct operational (monthly to quarterly) inspection of park and recreational facilities to identify hazards, existing and potential risks, non-conformities with Australian Standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.

Comprehensive Inspection Course

This two/three* day nationally recognised training course incorporating AHCPGD505 Conduct comprehensive inspection of park facilities, will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to conduct comprehensive (annual or post installation) compliance audit of park or recreation facilities to identify non-conformities with Australian Standards, legislative and work health and safety requirements, as well as manufacturers’ standards.
